Day 2 BEIJING
Welcome to Beijing - the Capital of China and home to many wonders. Arrive in the late afternoon. You will be met by your friendly guide and transferred to the 4-star Grand View Garden Hotel.

Visit Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, and the beautiful Summer Palace. Dinner is followed by a Peking Opera Performance.

Excursion to the mighty Great Wall. Enroute visit the ancient Ming Tombs. Enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner in the evening.

Day 5 BEIJING - JINAN
Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning. After lunch, board a train for Jinan. Transfer to the 4-star Litian Hotel. A Welocme Dinner will be held in your honour.

Jinan is best known for its hundreds of natural springs and black pottery dating back to the Neolithic times. Visit the Black Tiger Spring and Daming Lake.

Visit Mount Tai - China's most sacred mountain, designated as a heritage site by UNESCO in 1982. 72 emperors came to pay homage to this 'Emperor Mountain.' Take a cable car to the summit to enjoy a breathtaking view and fresh air. Coach to Qufu, where little has changed in 2,000 years. Stay at the Traditional Queli Hotel.

Qufu is the birthplace of Confucius. His philosophy and ethics, known as Confucianism, has since influenced China and Asia. Visit the magnificent Confucius Temple, Mansion and the final resting place of Confucius. Enjoy a Folkloric Dance & Singing Lunch Show. Coach back to Jinan and then depart for Hangzhou by an overnight train (4 softberth sleepers to one private compartment).

Day 9 HANGZHOU
Arrive in the early morning. Transfer to the 4-star Holiday Inn to freshen up and have breakfast. Visit the Lingyin Temple and the Six Harmony Pagoda. Enjoy a boat cruise on the tranquil waters of the beautiful West Lake. Tasting a cup of the 'Dragon Well' tea at the Longjing Plantation will add to your highlights of today.

Take a train to Suzhou - 'Venice of the East.' Its fame rests on silk weaving and exquisite scenery. Enjoy a boat cruise on the Grand Canal

Day 11 TONGLI EXCURSION
Visit the Master of Nets Garden and the Embroidery Institute. Coach to Tongli - a water town with 177 low islands connected by stone bridges of different styles and ages. Have your camera ready to capture the natural
settings of these bridges, brooks and wells. Return to Suzhou.

Morning visit to the Lu Alley Ancient Village where you will see many Ming and Qing Dynasty architectural buildings. Visit a Sculpture Building, where you will see artworks of brick, wood and gold sculptures and paintings. Take an afternoon train to Shanghai. Transfer to the 4-star Shanghai Hotel.
