Questions

Booking Classes:

Q: Can we combine different booking classes on Gulf Air for a return journey?
A: If seats are not available in lower class then on the return portion you can book it in higher class on ½ return basis.

Q: In cases where GF shows availability but trans-atlantic carriers do not show availability, do you have upsells on trans-atlantic carriers?
A: Yes, we have upsells on trans-atlantic carriers with a surcharge, which is shown on our fare sheets. You may also call one of our agents for assistance.

Q: Even after you ticket our PNR, trans-atlantic carrier’s reservations get cancelled in my system. Do I also have to pass ticket numbers through my system?
A: Since bookings are made in your systems, when we ticket, the ticket numbers are only passed by default to GF segments. For all other carriers it will be your responsibility to pass ticket numbers in your system to avoid booking getting cancelled.

Routing:

Q: Can we send passengers on one trans-atlantic airline and bring them back on a different carrier?
A: It is permitted to use different trans-atlantic carriers on ½ round trip basis, but you cannot combine 2 different trans-atlantic carriers in one direction.

Min/Max Stay:

Q: What is the maximum validity on our round trip tickets?
A: All our roundtrip fares to ISC are now for a maximum stay of 1 year from the date of outbound journey.

Q: Can we extend the validity of ticket once passenger is in ISC?
A: Since the fares are for 1 year validity, there will be no extensions after the one year maximum stay.

Stopovers:

Q: Does Gulf Air allow stopover on a one-way journey?
A: Gulf Air allows stopover on one-way basis, provided gross fare basis rules permit it. Therefore it is important to see the rules of the trans-atlantic carrier used.

Q: Can my passenger take two stops in Europe (one outbound and one on return)?
A: Yes, your passenger can stop in Europe once on outbound journey and once on return with no stopover charges, but airport taxes should be paid.

Q: Can my passenger stop in Middle East in both directions?
A: One stop in BAH/MCT is free and the other stop on return will be charged $140.

Q: Can my passenger take a stopover in Canada?
A: Yes, it is permitted on Air Canada with direct connection to GF European gateways only.

Side Trips

Q:Can passenger take a side trip to JED before proceeding to ISC?
A: Unless your passenger is traveling during Haj season, we allow side trip to JED with additional charge of $300 per adult $200 for child and $50 for infant and at present you have to book side trip portion in V class.

STPC:

Q:What happens when a passenger has a long lay-over in Europe? Does Gulf Air or Trans-atlantic carrier give free hotel/food for duration?
A: Gulf Air does not have STPC in Europe. If for connection purposes; where there is a choice to give long lay-over, then give it in Middle East where GF will provide STPC for long layover if there is no connecting flight at a charge of $30 per passenger.

Q: What happens when a passenger has a long lay-over in Middle East? Does Gulf Air provide STPC?
A: When there is no connecting flight and it is a force layover, Gulf Air will provide STPC in Middle East.

SPL Services:

Q: In your fare sheets you have given some fares for domestic sectors within Bangladesh, how do we book them?
A: We have made arrangement for special coaches, where these is no domestic flight, we can book and issue tickets in advance so that your passengers can be assured of seats in Coach. We also have domestic add-on with national carriers. Please call our office for more details.

Open Jaw:

Q:Do you allow open –jaw in Europe (For example: arrive in LON and depart from IST)?
A: Open Jaw is allowed in Europe, surface at passengers expense.

Change of Booking:

Q:Do you allow changes once ticketed and what are the penalties?
A: There are no charges for change of booking for the return journey on Regular fares. However, there is a change fee of $75 on Seat Sale fares.

Refunds/No Show:

Q:What is your refund policy on Gulf Air ticket?
A: $150 penalty applies for fully unused tickets, provided reservations were cancelled before departure.

Q: What is your no-show policy?
A: It is very important that reservations are cancelled if passenger is not traveling, otherwise there is a no-show penalty of $100 for each ticket in addition to normal applicable refund penalties.

Fares:

Q:Do you have Premium (J/F class) fares out of Canada?
A: We have net fares on Business class as well as upsells for GF sectors only, which are very competitive. Please contact one of our agents for more information.

Q: Do you have fares for other destinations on Gulf Air Network other than to ISC?
A: We have net fares out of Canada to all destinations where Gulf Air flies.

Q: Do you have upsell on Gulf Air?
A: We have upsell to Business class for GF sectors only and they are very competitive, especially during high season when seats are sold out, this fare is very popular.

Q:. Do you have fares in reverse direction?
A: The same fares can be used either direction with an add-on of $100 for one way and $200 for return fares. If you have to send a PTA then there is an additional $60 PTA charge applicable.

Q:. Do you also sell separate fares Ex-Europe? What will be the baggage allowance for Ex-Europe fares?
A: For passengers traveling out of Canada, we have special fares Ex-Europe to all Gulf Air destinations and the baggage allowance will be 2 pieces.

Q: Does Gulf Air charge fuel surcharge and what are the charges?
A: As with all carriers Gulf Air also charges fuel surcharge, and they are based on each direction. For current fuel surcharge please contact one of our agents.

Q: Do passengers have to pay Gulf Air fuel surcharge as well as trans-atlantic carrier charges?
A: Yes, each trans-atlantic carrier has their own fuel surcharge, which is different from GF fuel surcharges. Please call our office for current fuel surcharges.

Miscellaneous:

Q:Can we pre-book seats for family traveling together in economy class?
A: On net fares in economy class we can request seating thru OSI, so that airport is alerted and they are given at time of boarding.

Q: Can we book special meals in economy class on consolidator’s tickets on trans-atlantic carriers or on Gulf Air?
A: We understand that passengers have different dietary requirements. On GF if the request is made at least 24 hours prior to flights, all special meals are provided.

Q: What happens if due to delay in trans-atlantic flight my passenger misses onward on a separately issued GF ticket?
A: The trans-atlantic carrier whose flight is delayed should re-accommodate as per their internal procedures.

Q: Sometimes I do not get local contact of passengers for ISC? Is that compulsory?
A: It is very important that local contact for each and every passenger is taken. This will be helpful to your passengers as well because in case of any delays, flight changes etc. your passengers can be alerted.

Q:. How can I reach your office after 6 PM EST or on the weekend?
A: Due to network of our offices, we are open from 9.00AM EST – 9.00PM EST, as calls are routed from NYC to HOU to YVR after each office closes. (800 GET TWAI)

Q:Does my client get mileage for their trip?
A:Gulf Air has Frequent Flyer programs which are attractive and to get mileage you need to enroll in our GF FFP program.

Q: What is Sky Nanny?
A: Based on the number of children on board, trained Sky Nanny’s are assigned automatically for the comfort of passengers traveling with children. They take care of children right from check-in, to on board entertainment to meal times, so that are all taken care by Sky Nanny so that your passengers can have a pleasant flight.
